‘Streaming’ is the set version of ‘Stream’, which is an open work in which the main section is written in three different ways while the materials of the other sections are only suggested, giving the performers considerable freedom to select and experiment with them.

The first section of ‘Streaming’ is the main section of the piece. It is powerful and energetic in character and comprises two elements: arpeggiated bursts and repeated notes. The second section is softer and calmer, a consequence of relaxing the repeated notes, although they do not lose their nervousness, progressively increasing in tension until returning to the main section, which is again powerful and energetic.

The following section is a fantasy with a soft and mysterious atmosphere where the effects inside the piano, and the metallophones in the percussion, are the protagonists. After a brief transition, we come to a section with repeated chords in accelerando and ritardando, played independently on each instrument, which gives a sense of vertigo and a falling feeling. The piece ends with a return to the main section.

“Streaming” es la versión fijada de “Stream”, que es una obra abierta donde la sección principal está escrita de tres maneras diferentes, mientras que los materiales de las demás secciones están sólo sugeridos, dejando a los intérpretes gran libertad para seleccionarlos y jugar con ellos.

En Streaming, la primera sección es la principal de la obra. Tiene un carácter potente y enérgico y se compone de dos elementos: ráfagas arpegiadas y notas repetidas. La segunda sección más suave y tranquila, es consecuencia de relajar las notas repetidas, aunque no pierden del todo su nerviosismo, ganando progresivamente en tensión hasta volver a la sección principal, otra vez potente y enérgica.

La siguiente sección es una fantasía de ambiente suave y misterioso donde los efectos dentro del piano, y los metalófonos en la percusión, son los protagonistas. Tras una breve transición, llegamos a una sección con acordes repetidos en acelerando y retardando, independientes en cada instrumento, lo que da una sensación de vértigo y caída. Finaliza la obra con la vuelta a la sección principal.
